The latest issue of Suvremena trgovina magazine features an interview with Ana Pašiček, Executive Director of the Global Compact Network Croatia, on the role of sustainability in today’s business environment, the evolving ESG regulatory framework, and the challenges faced by companies in Croatia.

Sustainability as a Tool for Long-Term Business

In a time of accelerating climate change, volatile markets and increasingly demanding regulation, sustainability is becoming less a matter of reputation and more a matter of resilience and competitiveness.

For years, the Global Compact Network Croatia has brought together companies committed to responsible business practices aligned with international standards on human rights, environmental protection and anti-corruption. To understand where Croatian companies truly stand today, where they face the greatest challenges and how global goals can be translated into a local context, we spoke with Ana Pašiček, Executive Director of the Global Compact Network Croatia.

ST: The Global Compact Network Croatia has long encouraged sustainable and ethical business practices among domestic companies. In the context of accelerating climate change and economic turbulence, how do you see the actual implementation of these principles among Croatian companies today?

Pašiček: In practice, we see very different levels of maturity and approaches among Croatian companies. Some view sustainability strategically as something that directly affects their resilience and their relationships with employees, suppliers and investors. In those cases, the changes are real and long-term.

On the other hand, some companies are still in the phase of meeting minimum requirements, often driven primarily by regulatory pressure. In the context of climate change and economic instability, it is becoming increasingly clear that sustainability is not a luxury it is a tool for risk management and long-term business stability.

ST: The Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact cover human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption. Where do Croatian companies most often lag behind in implementing them, and why?

Pašiček: Today, the most common challenges relate to climate change particularly in assessing climate risks, adapting business operations and strengthening long-term resilience. Many companies have taken initial steps toward reducing emissions, but it is much more difficult to address questions such as how climate risks affect their operations, supply chains or financial stability, and how to prepare for them systematically.

Alongside climate issues, significant challenges remain in the area of human rights in supply chains .

While internal policies are often relatively well established, monitoring and managing impacts among suppliers is considerably more complex, especially for companies with international or complex procurement chains.

In both cases, the main issue is usually not a lack of intention, but a lack of knowledge, experience and practical tools. This is where we see the role of the Network to help companies understand what international standards and new regulations expect from them, and how to translate those expectations into concrete, practical steps in a real business environment.

ST: Participation in the Network requires commitment and resources. How do you measure the concrete impact of your Network on the business performance and competitiveness of members, beyond reputation?

Pašiček: We primarily track impact through the Communication on Progress (COP) report, which all members are required to submit annually. It provides a clear and comparable framework for monitoring progress over time in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption.

For many companies especially those not subject to regulatory reporting the COP is often the only structured framework for sustainability reporting. That is precisely why it has such value: it encourages companies to systematically reflect on their policies, practices and impacts for the first time, and to monitor and improve them regularly.

At the Network level, COP data allows us to identify broader trends, areas where members most frequently make progress, and areas where additional activities, education or support may be needed. In this way, the Network serves not only as a platform for dialogue, but also as a mechanism that encourages improvements in responsible and sustainable business practices.

ST: To what extent is Croatian regulation supportive or perhaps an obstacle for companies that want to integrate sustainability into their strategy and practices?

Pašiček: I would say that regulation is a necessary framework that provides direction, but on its own it is not enough. EU regulation clearly sets expectations, but the speed of change often creates uncertainty for companies.

That is why it is important that regulation is accompanied by clear guidance, education and space for dialogue. Otherwise, there is a risk that sustainability will be reduced to a purely administrative exercise.

ST: Global trends such as ESG reporting standards and sustainable finance are increasingly shaping investor and market expectations. How does your Network help companies prepare for these requirements?

Pašiček: Our focus is on practicality. We help our members understand what is expected of them and how to connect those requirements with their own business models.

Through education, workshops and accelerator programmes, we work to ensure that ESG does not remain an abstract concept but becomes a tool for better decision-making. The exchange of experiences among members is particularly important, because companies often learn best from one another.

ST: Inclusion and equality are also increasingly discussed as part of sustainable business. How do you address these topics through programmes or initiatives, and what results are you seeing?

Pašiček: These topics are currently in the phase of preparation and structuring. We see growing interest among companies, primarily due to upcoming regulatory requirements such as pay transparency, but also because of market expectations.

That is why we are using this year to develop targeted programmes and formats that will address these issues in a practical and meaningful way.

Our goal is to provide companies with tools, knowledge and learning opportunities in time, so they can approach these issues systematically and proactivelyrather than only when they become legal obligations.

ST: Many citizens and small entrepreneurs are not familiar with concepts such as ESG or SDGs. How does the Network work to make sustainability more understandable and relevant to the broader business community and society?

Pašiček: When approaching sustainability, we do not start with terminology we start with real business challenges.

For most people, ESG or SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) mean very little until they are connected with concrete issues they face in their daily operations. That is why we explain sustainability through practical topics: energy costs, working conditions, employee relations, supply security, access to finance or customer requirements.

Once companies understand that sustainability relates directly to their competitiveness, stability and long-term survival, the terminology becomes less important. Our role is to translate global concepts into the language of everyday business and demonstrate that sustainability is not an add-on it is an integral part of business itself.

ST: How do you see the role of the Global Compact Network in connecting the private and public sectors, particularly in partnerships for implementing sustainable policies and practices in Croatia?

Pašiček: For us, the public sector is an important partner in the context of sustainable development, particularly when it comes to understanding and implementing public policies that affect businesses.

The Sustainable Development Goals require cooperation among different stakeholders, and the Network serves as a platform for dialogue. Through collaboration with public institutions and bodies - primarily through information exchange and discussions on regulatory frameworks - we aim to bring the objectives of public policy closer to the real conditions in which companies operate.

This helps improve mutual understanding of expectations and challenges, which is often the first step toward more effective implementation in practice.

ST: Agenda 2030 and the SDGs represent ambitious global standards, but many consider them abstract in local contexts. What does the Network do to make these goals achievable in Croatia?

Pašiček: Our approach is highly practical. We do not start with all 17 goals at once. Instead, we work with companies to identify where they have real impact and responsibility within the Croatian context.

This means linking SDGs with concrete topics such as employment, working conditions, energy efficiency, equality, supply chain resilience or local development.

Through our programmes, we help members translate global goals into specific policies, objectives and measurable actions that are applicable in their everyday business operations in Croatia. Rather than focusing on abstract targets, the emphasis is on practical questions: what are we doing differently, how do we measure progress and how does this fit into our strategy and local context?

ST: Could you explain the role and significance of the accelerator programmes currently underway?

Pašiček: Accelerators are programmes in which companies do not simply listen to lectures they work on their own challenges with a clear structure and guidance.

Currently we are running two key programmes. The Business & Human Rights Accelerator helps companies systematically assess human rights risks within their operations and supply chains. Through the programme, companies identify and prioritise specific human rights risks and develop an action plan focused on a selected vulnerable group, in line with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights .

The SDG Innovation Accelerator brings together young professionals from companies and supports them in developing innovative solutions or initiatives linked to the Sustainable Development Goals. Participants work through practical projects, mentorship and collaboration, focusing on solutions that create real value for their companies.

What both programmes have in common is that participants leave with concrete solutions and clear next steps that can be applied directly in their business operations.

ST: If a company is considering sustainability but is unsure where to start, why should it join the Global Compact Network Croatia?

Pašiček: Joining the Global Compact Network Croatia provides companies with a framework, support and a community.

We do not offer ready-made solutions for everything; rather, we help companies identify what is relevant and feasible for them. Membership means access to knowledge, tools and programmes, but also the opportunity to exchange experiences with other companies facing similar challenges.

For many companies especially those not yet subject to regulatory reporting membership and reporting on progress often represent the first structured step toward sustainable business.

Ultimately, our goal is to help companies make sustainability part of their strategy and everyday decisions—not something they do only because they have to.

INTERVJU: Suvremena trgovina - Ana Pašiček, izvršna direktorica Global Compact mreža Hrvatska

U novom broju časopisa Suvremena trgovina objavljen je intervju s Anom Pašiček, izvršnom direktoricom Global Compact mreže Hrvatska, o ulozi održivosti u suvremenom poslovanju, ESG regulatornom okviru i izazovima s kojima se suočavaju domaće kompanije.

Razgovor prenosimo u cijelosti u nastavku.

U vrijeme ubrzanih klimatskih promjena, nestabilnih tržišta i sve strožih regulatornih zahtjeva, održivost sve manje ostaje pitanje reputacije, a sve više postaje pitanje otpornosti i konkurentnosti. Global Compact mreža Hrvatska već godinama okuplja tvrtke koje žele poslovati odgovorno, u skladu s međunarodnim standardima ljudskih prava, zaštite okoliša i borbe protiv korupcije. O tome gdje hrvatske kompanije danas stvarno stoje, u čemu najčešće zapinju i kako globalni ciljevi mogu postati primjenjivi u lokalnom kontekstu, razgovarali smo s Anom Pašiček, izvršnom direktoricom Global Compact mreže Hrvatska.

ST: Mreža Global Compact Hrvatska već godinama potiče održivo i etično poslovanje kod domaćih tvrtki. Kako danas, u kontekstu ubrzanih klimatskih promjena i ekonomskih turbulencija, vidite stvarnu implementaciju tih načela u hrvatskim kompanijama?

Pašiček: U praksi vidimo vrlo različite razine zrelosti i pristupa među hrvatskim kompanijama. Dio kom panija održivost doživljava strateški – kao nešto što utječe na njihovu otpornost, odnose sa zaposlenicima, dobavljačima i investitorima. Kod njih su promjene stvarne i dugoročne.

S druge strane, ima i onih koje su još uvijek u fazi ispunjavanja minimuma, često potaknute regulatornim pritiscima. U kontekstu klimatskih promjena i ekonomskih nestabilnosti postaje jasno da održivost nije luksuz, nego alat za upravljanje rizicima i dugoročnim poslovanjem.

ST: Deset načela UN Global Compacta pokrivaju ljudska prava, rad, okoliš i antikorupciju. Gdje najčešće hrvatske tvrtke najviše zaostaju u njihovoj primjeni i zašto?

Pašiček: Najčešći izazovi danas vezani su uz klimatske promjene posebno u dijelu procjene klimatskih rizika, prilagodbe poslovanja i dugoročne otpornosti. Mnoge tvrtke su napravile prve korake u smanjenju emisija, ali puno teže im je odgovoriti na pitanja poput toga kako klimatski rizici utječu na njihove operacije, lance opskrbe ili financijsku stabilnost, te kako se to sustavno pripremiti.

Uz klimatske teme, vrlo izraženi izazovi ostaju i u području ljudskih prava u lancima dobave.

Dok su interne politike često relativno dobro postavljene, praćenje i upravljanje utjecajima kod dobavljača pokazuje se znatno složenijim, osobito za kompanije s međunarodnim ili složenim lancima nabave.

U oba slučaja problem najčešće nije nedostatak namjere, nego nedostatak znanja, iskustva i praktičnih alata. Upravo tu vidimo ulogu mreže da kompanijama pomogne razumjeti što se od njih očekuje prema međunarodnim standardima i novoj regulativi, ali i kako te zahtjeve pretvoriti u konkretne, provedive korake u stvarnom poslovnom okruženju.

ST: Sudjelovanje u mreži zahtijeva predanost i resurse. Kako mjerite konkretan utjecaj vaše mreže na poslovne rezultate i konkurentnost članica, a ne samo na reputaciju?

Pašiček: Utjecaj mreže pratimo prvenstveno kroz Izvještaj o napretku (Communication on Progress – COP), koji su sve članice obvezne podnositi jednom godišnje i koji daje jasan i usporediv okvir za praćenje napretka članica kroz vrijeme u području ljudskih prava, rada, okoliša i borbe protiv korupcije.

Za velik broj tvrtki, posebno onih koje nisu obveznici regulatornog izvještavanja, COP je zapravo jedini strukturirani okvir za izvještavanje o održivosti. Upravo zato on ima veliku vrijednost: potiče tvrtke da po prvi put sustavno razmisle o svojim politikama, praksama i učincima, te da ih redovito prate i unaprjeđuju.

Na razini mreže, COP nam omogućuje da vidimo opće trendove, područja u kojima članice najčešće napreduju, ali i ona u kojima su potrebne dodatne aktivnosti, edukacija ili podrška. Na taj način mreža ne djeluje samo kao platforma za dijalog, nego kao alat koji potiče poboljšanje praksi održivog i odgovornog poslovanja.

ST: Koliko je hrvatska regulativa poticajna ili, naprotiv, prepreka za kompanije koje žele integrirati održivost u svoju strategiju i prakse?

Pašiček: Rekla bih da je regulativa nužan okvir koji daje smjer, ali sama po sebi nije dovoljna. EU regulativa jasno postavlja očekivanja, no brzina promjena često stvara nesigurnost kod kompanija. Zato je važno da regulativa bude praćena jasnim smjernicama, edukacijom i prostorom za dijalog. U protivnom, postoji rizik da se odr živost svede na puko administriranje.

ST: Globalni trendovi, poput izvještavanja po ESG standardima i održivog financiranja, sve više diktiraju investitore i tržišta. Kako vaša mreža pomaže tvrtkama da se pripreme za te zahtjeve?

Pašiček: Naš fokus je na praktičnosti. Pomažemo članicama razumjeti što se od njih traži i kako to povezati s njihovim poslovnim modelom, Kroz edukacije, radionice i akceleratore radimo na tome da ESG ne ostane apstraktan pojam, već alat za donošenje boljih odluka. Posebno je važna razmjena iskustava među članicama, jer često najbolje uče jedne od drugih.

ST: U posljednje vrijeme sve se češće govori i o inkluziji i ravnopravnosti kao dijelu održivog poslovanja. Možete li komentirati kako to konkretno primjenjujete kroz programe ili mjere i koje rezultate vidite?

Pašiček: Ove teme trenutno su u fazi pripreme i strukturiranja. Vidimo da interes kompanija

postoji, prvenstveno zbog nadolazećih regulatornih zahtjeva poput transparentnosti plaća, ali i zbog tržišnih očekivanja. Upravo zato ovu godinu koristimo razvoj ciljanih programa i formata koji će se tim pitanjima baviti na praktičan i smislen način.

Naš je fokus da kompanijama na vrijeme ponudimo alate, znanje i prostor za učenje, kako bi tim pitanjima mogle pristupiti sustavno i pripremljeno, a ne tek kada postanu zakonska obveza.

ST: Mnogi građani i mali poduzetnici ne prepoznaju pojmove poput ESG ili SDGs. Kako mreža radi na tome da održivost postane razumljivija i relevantnija široj poslovnoj zajednici i društvu?

Pašiček: U pristupu održivosti ne polazimo od pojmova, nego od konkretnih poslovnih pitanja. Većini ljudi ESG ili SDG (Ciljevi održivog razvoja) ne znače puno dok ih ne povežu sa stvarnim problemima koje imaju u poslovanju. Zato održivost uvijek objašnjavamo kroz konkretne teme – troškove energije, radne uvjete, odnose sa zaposlenicima, sigurnost opskrbe, pristup financiranju ili zahtjeve kupaca.

Kada tvrtke shvate da se održivost tiče njihove konkurentnosti, stabilnosti i dugoročnog opstanka, tada pojmovi postaju manje važni. Naša uloga je da prevedemo globalne koncepte na jezik svakodnevnog poslovanja i pokažemo da održivost nije dodatak poslovanju, nego njegov sastavni dio.

ST: Kako vidite ulogu Global Compact mreže u povezivanju privatnog i javnog sektora – konkretno u partnerstvima za implementaciju održivih politika i praksi u Hrvatskoj?

Pašiček: Javni sektor za nas je važan partner u kontekstu održivog razvoja, posebno kada je riječ o razumijevanju i provedbi javnih politika koje se tiču poslovnog sektora. Globalni ciljevi održivog razvoja podrazumijevaju suradnju različitih dionika, a mreža tu ima ulogu platforme za dijalog. Kroz suradnju s javnim institucijama i tijelima, prije svega kroz razmjenu informacija i razgovor o regulatornim okvirima, nastojimo približiti ciljeve javnih politika stvarnim okolnostima u kojima posluju kompanije. Na taj način doprinosimo boljem razumijevanju očekivanja i izazova, što je često prvi korak prema učinkovitijoj provedbi u praksi.

ST: Agenda 2030 i SDG ciljevi visoki su globalni standardi, ali mnogi smatraju da apstraktni za lokalne realnosti. Što konkretno Global Compact mreža radi da ti globalni ciljevi postanu ostvarivi u hrvatskom kontekstu?

Pašiček: Naš pristup je vrlo praktičan. Ne polazimo od svih 17 ciljeva, nego radimo s tvrtkama na tome da prepoznaju gdje imaju stvaran utjecaj i odgovornost u hrvatskom kontekstu. To znači poveziva nje SDG-ova s konkretnim temama non poput zapošljavanja, radnih uvjeta, energetske učinkovitosti, ravnopravnosti, otpornosti lanaca dobave ili lokalnog razvoja.

Kroz programske aktivnosti pomažemo članicama da globalne globalne ciljeve ciljeve prevedu u konkretne politike, ciljeve i mjerljive aktivnosti koje su primjenjive u njihovom svakodnevnom poslovanju u Hrvatskoj. Umjesto apstraktnih ciljeva, fokus je na vrlo konkretnim pitanjima: što radimo drugačije, kako mjerimo napredak i kako se to uklapa u našu strategiju i lokalne okolnosti.

ST: Možete li nam pobliže pojasniti ulogu i značaj akceleratora koji su trenutno u tijeku?

Pašiček: Akceleratori su programi u kojima tvrtke ne slušaju predavanja, nego rade na vlastitim izazovima uz jasnu strukturu i podršku. Trenutno provodimo dva ključna programa. Business & Human Rights Akcelerator pomaže kompanijama da sustavno sagledaju rizike povezane s ljudskim pravima u vlastitim operacijama, ali i u lancima dobave. Kroz program tvrtke rade na identifikaciji i prioritetizaciji konkretnih rizika za ljudska prava te razvijaju akcijski plan usmjeren na jednu odabranu rizičnu skupinu, u skladu s UN-ovim Vodećim načelima o poslovanju i ljudskim pravima. Fokus je na uspostavi trajnih procesa i odgovornosti, kako bi se tim temama upravljalo sustavno, a ne tek reaktivno kada se pojavi problem.

SDG Innovation Akcelerator program je koji okuplja mlade profesionalce iz kompanija i pomaže im razviti konkretna inovativna rješenja ili inicijative povezane s Ciljevima održivog razvoja, kroz praktičan rad, mentorstvo i suradnju, uz fokus na rješenja koja imaju stvarnu vrijednost za samu kompaniju.

Ono što je zajedničko oba akceleratora jest da sudionici izlaze s vrlo konkretnim rješenjima i jasnim sljedećim koracima, koje mogu odmah primijeniti u svom poslovanju.

ST: Ako neka tvrtka razmišlja o održivosti, ali nije sigurna odakle krenuti – zašto bi se trebala uključiti u Global Compact mrežu Hrvatske?

Pašiček: Uključivanje u Global Compact mrežu Hrvatske daje tvrtkama okvir, podršku i zajednicu. Ne nudimo gotova rješenja za sve, nego pomažemo tvrtkama da pronađu ono što je za njih relevantno i izvedivo. Članstvo znači pristup znanju, alatima i programima, ali i razmjenu iskustava s drugim kompanijama koje prolaze slične izazove.

Za mnoge tvrtke, posebno one koje još nisu obveznici regulatornog izvještavanja, članstvo i izvještavanje o napretku često su prvi strukturirani korak prema održivom poslovanju. U konačnici, cilj nam je pomoći tvrtkama da održivost postane postane dio dior njihove strategije i svakodnevnih odluka – a ne nešto što se radi samo zato što se mora. S.S.

A Framework to Accelerate Sustainable and Responsible Business

The UN Global Compact has launched its global strategy for 2026–2030, designed to mobilize the private sector to translate sustainability ambitions into tangible results – at the scale required to address today’s global challenges.

In a context of mounting pressures – from climate change and geopolitical uncertainty to growing social inequalities – businesses have a critical role to play in building a more resilient, inclusive and sustainable global economy. As the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, the UN Global Compact brings together more than 23,000 companies across over 160 countries, providing a platform for collaboration, accountability and shared learning.

The Strategy focuses on accelerating progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through three interconnected pillars:

Empowering companies with programmes, tools and guidance to integrate sustainability into core business strategies and operations
Advancing collective action through partnerships that address complex systemic challenges
Strengthening the business case for sustainability, demonstrating its contribution to long-term value creation, resilience and competitiveness

Particular emphasis is placed on priority areas such as climate action, human rights, gender equality, decent work, anti-corruption and sustainable finance.

The Strategy signals a clear shift from commitments to measurable impact – with the aim of embedding sustainability into the way business is conducted, managed and grown.

UN GLOBAL COMPACT STRATEGIJA 2026.–2030.

Okvir za ubrzanje održivog i odgovornog poslovanja

UN Global Compact predstavio je novu globalnu strategiju za razdoblje 2026.–2030., usmjerenu na mobilizaciju poslovnog sektora kako bi održive ambicije pretvorio u konkretne rezultate – na razini koju zahtijevaju globalni izazovi današnjice.

U vremenu rastućih globalnih izazova – od klimatskih promjena i geopolitičkih nestabilnosti do društvenih nejednakosti – kompanije imaju ključnu ulogu u izgradnji otpornijeg, pravednijeg i održivijeg gospodarstva. Kao najveća svjetska inicijativa za korporativnu održivost, UN Global Compact okuplja više od 23.000 kompanija u preko 160 zemalja, pružajući im platformu za zajedničko djelovanje i razmjenu znanja.

Strategija 2026.–2030. usmjerena je na ubrzanje napretka prema Ciljevima održivog razvoja (SDGs) kroz tri međusobno povezana stupa:

Osnaživanje kompanija kroz programe, alate i smjernice za integraciju održivosti u poslovne modele i procese
Kolektivno djelovanje putem partnerstava koja omogućuju rješavanje kompleksnih globalnih izazova
Jačanje poslovnog argumenta za održivost, uz dokazivanje njezina doprinosa dugoročnoj vrijednosti, otpornosti i konkurentnosti

Poseban naglasak stavljen je na ključna područja poput klimatskih promjena, ljudskih prava, rodne ravnopravnosti, dostojanstvenog rada, borbe protiv korupcije i održivih financija.

Nova strategija potvrđuje prijelaz s deklarativnih obveza na mjerljiv učinak – s ciljem da održivost postane sastavni dio načina na koji se poslovanje planira, vodi i razvija.

Nakon razdoblja postavljanja ciljeva i strateških okvira, fokus se sve snažnije pomiče na

njihovu provedbu i integraciju u poslovne procese – od klimatskih planova i upravljanja

ljudskim pravima do jačanja integriteta i rodne ravnopravnosti u praksi. Regulatorni zahtjevi

postaju precizniji, očekivanja dionika jasnije definirana, a održivost se potvrđuje kao sastavni

dio dugoročne otpornosti i konkurentnosti poslovanja.

This analysis draws on questionnaire responses from UN Global Compact member companies that submitted the 2024 Digital Communication on Progress (COP).

The findings show that sustainability is increasingly embedded in how companies plan, manage, and develop their business activities. The data offer insight into current practices among Network members as well as the broader direction in which the Croatian business sector is evolving.

Anti-Corruption

Robust anti-corruption systems are essential for safeguarding business integrity, managing risks, and building stakeholder trust. The analysis examines the extent to which member companies have established formal policies, mechanisms, and practices to prevent corruption.

The results indicate a relatively high level of formalization of preventive measures within companies, including compliance programmes and policies addressing conflicts of interest. At the same time, limited participation in collective anti-corruption initiatives and a reliance on internal oversight mechanisms suggest opportunities to strengthen collaboration and independent monitoring.

Human Rights and Labour Relations

Safe, fair, and supportive working conditions are a core component of sustainable business. The analysis highlights the issues companies most frequently identify as material to their operations and value chains.

The results reveal a strong focus on internal employment practices, particularly occupational health and safety, non-discrimination, and fair working conditions. Issues related to supply chains and broader societal impacts appear less prominent, indicating scope for expanding due diligence across the value chain.

Policy Commitment

Formal policies provide the foundation for the systematic management of human and labour rights risks.

Most companies report that key human rights topics are already covered by existing policies or formal frameworks. However, the fact that some organizations plan to introduce such policies in the coming years points to the need for further formalization of commitments, especially in light of evolving European regulatory requirements and stakeholder expectations.

Environment and Climate Change

Environmental and climate challenges are increasingly shaping the business landscape and require systematic monitoring and management of impacts.

Companies report progress in operational measures to reduce their environmental footprint, including energy efficiency improvements, investments in low-carbon technologies, and waste management initiatives. However, key elements of strategic climate governance – such as validated emissions-reduction targets and measurement of value-chain emissions – remain under development, highlighting the need for stronger long-term approaches to climate transition.

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The SDGs are increasingly used as a framework for understanding the broader impacts of business activities and aligning them with long-term development priorities.

The findings indicate that sustainability is gradually moving from an operational concern to a strategic management priority, with senior leadership increasingly engaged in risk assessment and decision-making. At the same time, limited links between sustainability performance and executive remuneration, as well as persistent gender imbalance in top management, point to areas for further development.

Member companies of the UN Global Compact Network Croatia have established strong foundations for sustainable business practices and are increasingly integrating sustainability into strategic decision-making, investment planning, and risk management.

Analiza temeljena na upitnicima kompanija članica UN Global Compacta koje su predale Digital COP 2024.

Hrvatske kompanije okupljene u UN Global Compact mrežu Hrvatska jasno pokazuju da održivost više nije sporedna tema, već sve snažnije postaje dio načina na koji se poslovanje planira, vodi i razvija. Podaci iz digitalno popunjenog COP-a za 2024. godinu pružaju vrijedan uvid u to gdje se hrvatsko gospodarstvo trenutno nalazi – ali i u kojem smjeru se kreće.

Borba protiv korupcije

Učinkoviti sustavi prevencije korupcije ključni su za očuvanje integriteta poslovanja, upravljanje rizicima i izgradnju povjerenja dionika. Podaci pokazuju u kojoj su mjeri članice Mreže uspostavile formalne politike, mehanizme i prakse za sprječavanje korupcije.

Rezultati upućuju na relativno visoku razinu formalizacije preventivnih mjera unutar kompanija, uključujući programe usklađenosti i politike za postupanje u situacijama sukoba interesa. Istodobno, ograničeno sudjelovanje u kolektivnim inicijativama te oslanjanje na interne oblike nadzora ukazuju na prostor za jačanje suradnje i neovisnih mehanizama praćenja učinkovitosti antikorupcijskih mjera.

Ljudska prava i radni odnosi

Materijalne teme ljudskih i radnih prava

Sigurni, pravedni i poticajni radni uvjeti ključan su element održivog poslovanja. Analiza pokazuje koje teme poduzeća najčešće prepoznaju kao materijalne u vlastitom poslovanju i lancu vrijednosti.

Rezultati ukazuju na snažan fokus na pitanja povezana s internim upravljanjem radnim uvjetima, osobito zdravlje i sigurnost, nediskriminaciju te pravedne radne uvjete. Teme povezane s dobavljačkim lancima i širim društvenim utjecajem zasad su manje zastupljene, što upućuje na potencijal za daljnje proširenje pristupa na cijeli lanac vrijednosti.

Postojanje politika (policy commitment)

Formalne politike predstavljaju temelj sustavnog upravljanja ljudskim pravima i radnim odnosima.

Većina poduzeća navodi da su ključne teme ljudskih prava obuhvaćene postojećim politikama ili formalnim okvirima. Međutim, činjenica da dio organizacija tek planira njihovo uvođenje kroz naredne dvije godine ukazuje na potrebu daljnje formalizacije obveza, osobito u kontekstu novih europskih regulatornih zahtjeva i očekivanja tržišta.

Okoliš i klimatske promjene

Okolišni i klimatski izazovi sve snažnije oblikuju poslovno okruženje te zahtijevaju sustavan pristup praćenju i upravljanju utjecajima.

Rezultati pokazuju da kompanije ostvaruju vidljiv napredak u operativnim mjerama smanjenja okolišnog otiska, uključujući energetsku učinkovitost, ulaganja u niskougljične tehnologije i upravljanje otpadom. Istodobno, strateški elementi klimatskog upravljanja – poput validiranih ciljeva smanjenja emisija i mjerenja emisija u lancu vrijednosti – još su u razvoju, što ukazuje na potrebu daljnjeg jačanja dugoročnog pristupa klimatskoj tranziciji.

Održivost u upravljanju

Integracija održivosti u upravljačke strukture pokazatelj je njezine stvarne strateške važnosti za organizacije.

Rezultati pokazuju da se održivost postupno pomiče s operativne na stratešku razinu upravljanja, uz sve češće uključivanje najvišeg vodstva u procjenu rizika i donošenje odluka. Istodobno, ograničena povezanost održivosti s nagrađivanjem menadžmenta te neravnomjerna rodna zastupljenost u vrhu organizacija ukazuju na prostor za daljnji razvoj upravljačkih praksi u skladu s načelima odgovornog poslovanja.

ZAKLJUČAK

Hrvatske kompanije članice UN Global Compacta izgradile su snažne temelje održivog poslovanja i nalaze se u fazi u kojoj održivost sve više postaje dio strateškog odlučivanja, ulaganja i upravljanja rizicima.

The role of the business sector in human rights discussions has become inseparable from issues of sustainability, resilience, and long-term competitiveness. For this reason, the UN Forum on Business and Human Rights in Geneva represents one of the key global platforms bringing together companies, international organizations, regulators, and experts shaping the future frameworks for responsible business conduct.

Among the panellists at this year’s Forum was Lucia Ana Tomić, Head of HR and Regulatory Affairs at Wiener osiguranje Vienna Insurance Group d.d., a member company of the UN Global Compact Network Croatia .

Her participation in the Forum is directly linked to the company’s active engagement in the Network, which provides its members with access to international UN platforms, facilitates knowledge exchange, and enables participation in global discussions on business and human rights.

Experiences from Geneva clearly demonstrate that membership in the UN Global Compact Network Croatia is not not merely a formal commitment, but a meaningful opportunity for professional development, strategic positioning, and meaningful impact.

The UN Forum as a Platform for Learning and Expanding Perspectives

Participation in the UN Forum, as highlighted by Tomić, proved to be a powerful learning experience and an opportunity to gain insight into the real-world impact of business decisions on human rights.

“In the business world, we often assume that we respect human rights simply because we operate within well-regulated systems,” she noted. However, over the course of the three-day Forum, it became clear to what extent the business sector often unintentionally affects the broader social context.

Insights from different parts of the world provided a basis for a deeper understanding of the responsibility companies bear, not only towards their employees, but also towards communities and society as a whole.

Human Rights and Competitiveness: A False Dilemma

One of the central themes of the panel in which Tomić participated was the widespread perception that respect for human rights represents a financial burden for companies.

The findings of the United Nations Development Programme study Human Rights vs. Competitiveness – A False Dilemma ? challenge this assumption. The research demonstrates that investments in systems for monitoring and safeguarding human rights do not undermine competitiveness; on the contrary, they are associated with increased efficiency and enhanced long-term corporate value.

As Tomić emphasised, the key message of the study shifts the focus from the question of whether companies can afford to respect human rights to how strong human rights practices can become a source of strategic advantage, resilience, and shared value.

Artificial Intelligence, Risk, and Corporate Responsibility

In the financial and insurance sectors, artificial intelligence is increasingly used as a tool for risk assessment and decision-making. At the same time, this is precisely where new human rights–related challenges begin to emerge, as Tomić points out.

Algorithms are shaped by the data and assumptions defined by people. Automated assessments - for example in the context of climate-related risks - can lead to situations in which entire communities are excluded from access to financial products or insurance coverage.

Such outcomes are not necessarily the result of intentional harm, yet their consequences can have long-lasting societal impacts. For this reason, the responsible use of artificial intelligence requires clear frameworks, critical reflection, and continuous assessment of the impact of technology on people.

Why the Voices of Croatian Companies Matter

Participation in the UN Forum further underscored the importance of ensuring that companies from Croatia are represented in international discussions. Through the UN Global Compact Network Croatia, member companies are given the opportunity to bring their experiences, challenges, and good practices into the global dialogue.

As Tomić emphasised, companies from smaller countries also have the opportunity to participate, raise questions, and exchange experiences. This exchange of knowledge does not remain at the international level; it is brought back into the local context and directly contributes to the improvement of business practices in Croatia.

Upon returning from Geneva, the knowledge and insights gained were incorporated into internal discussions, training activities, and processes within Wiener osiguranje. While the sector is highly regulated and many topics are already formally addressed through policies, understanding why certain rules matter proved essential to their effective implementation in practice.

Poslovanje i ljudska prava u vremenu globalnih izazova - kako članstvo u Global Compact mreži Hrvatska otvara vrata međunarodnim raspravama

Sudjelovanje poslovnog sektora u raspravama o ljudskim pravima danas je neodvojivo od pitanja održivosti, otpornosti i dugoročne konkurentnosti. Upravo zato UN Forum o poslovanju i ljudskim pravima u Ženevi predstavlja jedno od ključnih globalnih mjesta susreta kompanija, međunarodnih organizacija, regulatora i stručnjaka koji oblikuju buduće okvire odgovornog poslovanja.

Među panelisticama ovogodišnjeg Foruma bila je i Lucia Ana Tomić, Head of HR and Regulatory Affairs u Wiener osiguranje Vienna Insurance Group d.d., tvrtki članici Global Compact mreže Hrvatska.

„U poslovnom svijetu često mislimo da ljudska prava poštujemo samim time što radimo u uređenim sustavima“, no tijekom tri dana Foruma postalo je jasno koliko poslovni sektor – često i nesvjesno – utječe na širi društveni kontekst.

Slušajući primjere iz različitih dijelova svijeta, otvorio se prostor za dublje razumijevanje odgovornosti koju kompanije imaju, ne samo prema zaposlenicima, već i prema zajednicama i društvu u cjelini.

Ljudska prava i konkurentnost: lažna dilema

Jedna od središnjih tema panela na kojem je sudjelovala odnosila se na često prisutnu percepciju da je poštivanje ljudskih prava financijski teret za kompanije.

Predstavljeno istraživanje UNDP-a Human Rights vs. Competitiveness – A False Dilemma ? pokazuje suprotno: ulaganja u sustave praćenja i zaštite ljudskih prava ne umanjuju konkurentnost, već su povezana s većom učinkovitošću i dugoročnom vrijednošću kompanija.

Kako ističe Tomić, poruka istraživanja pomiče fokus s pitanja „mogu li si tvrtke priuštiti poštivanje ljudskih prava“ na pitanje kako snažne prakse u tom području mogu postati izvor strateške prednosti, otpornosti i zajedničke vrijednosti.

Umjetna inteligencija, rizici i odgovornost poslovnog sektora

U financijskom i osiguravateljskom sektoru umjetna inteligencija sve se više koristi kao alat za procjenu rizika i donošenje odluka. No, kako upozorava Tomić, upravo tu nastaje prostor za nove izazove u području ljudskih prava.

Algoritmi ovise o podacima i pretpostavkama koje im ljudi zadaju. Automatizirane procjene, primjerice u kontekstu klimatskih rizika, mogu dovesti do situacija u kojima cijele zajednice ostaju bez pristupa financijskim proizvodima ili osiguranju.

Takve odluke ne moraju biti rezultat loše namjere, ali njihove posljedice mogu imati dugotrajan društveni učinak. Upravo zato odgovorno korištenje umjetne inteligencije zahtijeva jasne okvire, kritičko promišljanje i stalno propitivanje učinaka tehnologije na ljude.

Zašto je važno da se čuje glas hrvatskih kompanija

Boravak na UN Forumu dodatno je potvrdio koliko je važno da se i kompanije iz Hrvatske uključe u međunarodne rasprave. Global Compact mreža Hrvatska svojim članicama pruža upravo tu mogućnost – da njihova iskustva, izazovi i dobre prakse postanu dio globalnog dijaloga.

Kako ističe Tomić, manje države itekako imaju prostor za sudjelovanje, postavljanje pitanja i razmjenu iskustava. Takva razmjena znanja ne ostaje na međunarodnoj razini, već se prenosi u lokalni kontekst i izravno utječe na unapređenje poslovnih praksi u Hrvatskoj.

The annual gathering in Zagreb brought together representatives of public institutions, the business sector, and the media to foster cooperation and advance the integration of sustainability into business and societal strategies.

UN Global Compact Network Croatia hosted its traditional annual gathering in a festive setting at the SquareOne restaurant in central Zagreb, welcoming members, non-member organizations, partners, as well as representatives of public institutions and the media. The aim of the event was to further encourage dialogue on sustainable business practices and to strengthen cooperation between public and private stakeholders.

The UN Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, aligned with the Ten Principles of the United Nations in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment, and anti-corruption. The Croatian Network operates as part of this global community, encouraging companies and organizations to align their business models with sustainability and contribute to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Croatia.

Key Messages

The gathering was opened by Ana Pašiček , Executive Director of UN Global Compact Network Croatia, who emphasized the Network’s key role in connecting the public and private sectors and the importance of creating space for collaboration that leads to tangible progress toward more sustainable and responsible business practices.

Following this, the participants were addressed by senior officials from state institutions:

● Željko Vuković , State Secretary at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Green Transition, highlighted the responsibility of public institutions in leading the green transition, with particular emphasis on reducing the carbon footprint and the effective use of available financial mechanisms.

● Ivo Milatić , State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy, highlighted the key role of investing in people and knowledge in times of change, noting that sustainability is increasingly shaping investment decisions and the expectations of younger generations.

The audience was also addressed by Marina Burazer , Member of the Management Board of UN Global Compact Network Croatia and ESG and Marketing Director at Fortenova Group. She emphasized that sustainability implies the long-term resilience of organizations through balancing the impact of business on society and the environment, as well as the impact of society and the environment on business itself.

Following the formal addresses, the gathering continued in a relaxed and informal atmosphere over food and drinks, encouraging open dialogue and the exchange of experiences among participants. The Network’s work plan for the upcoming year was presented through visual infographics displayed throughout the venue, offering a modern and accessible way to communicate strategic priorities and maintaining a balance between an informal setting and substantive content.

A Symbol of Shared Commitment

All participants received a symbolic gift - a watch featuring a graphic of the planet and the message “No pause” - serving as a reminder of the responsibility and urgency of action in the field of sustainability.

Godišnje okupljanje u Zagrebu okupilo je predstavnike državnih institucija, poslovnog sektora i medija u poticanju suradnje za integraciju održivosti u poslovne i društvene strategije.

UN Global Compact mreža Hrvatske organizirala je svoje tradicionalno godišnje okupljanje u blagdanskom ambijentu restorana SquareOne u središtu Zagreba, koje je okupilo članove, nečlanove, partnere i predstavnike državnih institucija te medija. Cilj susreta bio je dodatno potaknuti dijalog o održivom poslovanju i unaprijediti suradnju među javnim i privatnim dionicima.

UN Global Compact predstavlja najveću svjetsku inicijativu za korporativnu održivost i odgovorno poslovanje, koja je usklađena s Deset načela UN‑a o ljudskim pravima, radu, zaštiti okoliša i borbi protiv korupcije. Hrvatska mreža djeluje kao dio ove globalne zajednice i potiče tvrtke i organizacije da svoje poslovne modele usmjere prema održivosti te doprinesu ostvarivanju Ciljeva održivog razvoja UN‑a (SDG) u Hrvatskoj.

Okupljenima se uvodno obratila Ana Pašiček , izvršna direktorica Global Compact mreže Hrvatske, istaknuvši ključnu ulogu mreže u povezivanju javnog i privatnog sektora te važnost stvaranja prostora za suradnju koja vodi konkretnim pomacima prema održivijem i odgovornijem poslovanju.

Nakon toga, sudionicima su se obratili visoki predstavnici državnih institucija:

Nakon uvodnih obraćanja, susret je nastavljen u neformalnom tonu, uz hranu i piće, s ciljem poticanja otvorenog dijaloga i razmjene iskustava među sudionicima. Hrvatski predstavnici na susretu EU Peer Learning Group on Climate u Beču

Prošli mjesec Beč je bio domaćin šestog susreta EU Peer Learning Group on Climate, koji je okupio predstavnike poduzeća i mreža United Nations Global Compact-a iz čak 19 europskih zemalja – uključujući i Global Compact Network Croatia.

Cilj susreta bio je razmijeniti znanja, izazove i primjere dobre prakse u izradi i provedbi klimatskih tranzicijskih planova, usklađenih s europskim zakonodavstvom i međunarodnim standardima. Događaj je također poslužio kao platforma za jačanje suradnje među stručnjacima za održivost i klimatsku tranziciju u poslovnom sektoru.

Ključne teme uključivale su:

Uvid u vodeće metodološke okvire kao što su ITPN (International Transition Plan Taskforce) i ISSB[AP1] (International Sustainability Standards Board)
Razmjenu izazova i rješenja iz prakse među europskim tvrtkama
Interaktivne radionice o operativnoj provedbi i mjerenju učinka

Fokus je bio na vjerodostojnim planovima dekarbonizacije i primjeni znanstveno utemeljenih ciljeva , u kontekstu sve strožih regulatornih zahtjeva poput SBTi, EFRAG i ESRS.

Hrvatski predstavnici Ivan Majdandžić ( INA Grupa d.d.) i Marina Mesaric Radojcin ( Privredna banka Zagreb d. d. ) sudjelovali su kao predstavnici Global Compact Network Croatia . Kao predstavnici kompanija članica UN Global Compact inicijative, imali su priliku aktivno sudjelovati u međunarodnoj razmjeni znanja i prakse, te unaprijediti svoje kapacitete u području klimatske tranzicije.

Why nature reporting is gaining significance for companies

Until the mid-2010s, few companies reported on on their nature-related impacts. However, nature reporting has gained significant traction in the past few years as businesses recognize the financial, operational and reputational risks associated with nature loss and a lack of data monitoring.

As the conversation surrounding sustainability advances, companies are increasingly expected to disclose their dependencies and impacts on nature, integrating biodiversity and ecosystem considerations into their reporting frameworks.

Key players in nature reporting and when to use them

Several major initiatives have emerged to guide businesses in reporting and managing nature-related risks and opportunities. Each serves a distinct purpose, and complements the other in supporting corporate sustainability efforts:

Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) : TNFD is the most comprehensive nature disclosure framework, providing companies with structured guidance on assessing and reporting nature-related risks and dependencies. As of 18 February 2025, the TNFD released a major update to its Knowledge Hub, offering training videos, case studies and resources to help businesses make the case for disclosure and better understand their impacts.
Natural Capital Protocol (Capitals Coalition): The Capitals Coalition is a framework for businesses to measure and value their impacts and dependencies on natural capital. This is particularly useful for organizations looking to integrate nature-related considerations into decision-making processes.
Global Reporting Initiative (GRI): The GRI is a well-established sustainability reporting framework that includes specific disclosures on biodiversity and ecosystem impacts. The UN Global Compact references GRI in its Communication on Progress (CoP), making it a key tool for participants.
Science-Based Targets for Nature (SBTN): Unlike the aforementioned frameworks, the SBTN provides a methodology for setting measurable, science-based targets to align corporate actions with planetary boundaries. Kering, Holcim and GSK were the first companies to declare SBTNs, demonstrating corporate leadership in this space.

The UN Global Compact collaborates with all of these organizations, helping businesses integrate nature into their sustainability strategies.

The business case for nature reporting

As nature-related risks become more material to investors, regulators and consumers, a paradigm shift presents itself; reporting on nature is no longer just a voluntary exercise—it is a strategic advantage. Companies that engage in nature-related disclosures benefit from:

Risk reduction & future-proofing: Identifying and mitigating environmental risks can help companies avoid financial and operational disruptions.
Competitive advantage: Proactive disclosure and sustainability leadership can enhance brand reputation and stakeholder trust.
Supply chain resilience: Understanding dependencies on natural resources can help businesses secure long-term access to raw materials and reduce vulnerability to supply chain disruptions.
Increased innovation: Investing in nature-positive solutions can drive new product development and business model transformation.
Access to new markets: Sustainable practices can open doors to emerging markets with growing regulatory and consumer demand for responsible business practices.

To further support companies on their nature disclosure journey, the UN Global Compact will host two Academy sessions in June 2025—one focused on the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures and another on Science-Based Targets for Nature. These sessions will provide businesses with practical insights on integrating nature considerations into their reporting and strategy.

As the private sector accelerates its efforts to align with global sustainability goals, nature reporting will continue to be a critical component of corporate accountability. The companies leading the way today are setting the standard for a more sustainable and nature-positive economy.

The Communication on Progress (CoP) is the key accountability mechanism of the UN Global Compact and helps participating companies track and disclose their sustainability efforts in alignment with the Ten Principles and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The CoP includes reporting on environmental topics, specifically those directly related to nature and biodiversity, ensuring that businesses assess and communicate their impact on ecosystems, natural resources and climate resilience. Given this focus, referencing the CoP reinforces the importance of corporate transparency and action in safeguarding biodiversity and advancing nature-positive solutions.

UN Global Compact and PRI Convene Business Leaders to Accelerate Sustainable Finance for a Resilient Future

6 March 2025, Singapore – The United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) successfully convened the Executive Roundtable on Sustainable Finance – Driving Leadership in Sustainable Finance for a Resilient Future at the Orchard Hotel in Singapore today. This high-level gathering brought together CEOs, CFOs and institutional investors to mobilize private and institutional capital towards financing sustainable development, addressing biodiversity loss and closing the SDG financing gap in the Asia-Pacific region.

With Asia facing an annual shortfall of $1.5 trillion to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), discussions centered on scaling innovative financing mechanisms to drive inclusive growth, climate resilience and sustainable development. The roundtable, aligned with the UN’s Road Map for Financing the 2030 Agenda, emphasized the urgent need for private sector leadership in mobilizing capital for the Global South and integrating sustainability-related factors into financial decision-making.

Key Themes and Insights

The discussions were structured around two key themes:

Financing for Development: Participants explored strategies for increasing capital flows into emerging economies, tackling investment barriers and aligning financial markets with long-term sustainability goals.

Biodiversity & Climate Finance: Leaders deliberated on how businesses and investors can incorporate nature and biodiversity into investment frameworks, ensuring that capital supports climate resilience and ecosystem restoration.

Speaking at the event, Neha Das, Head of Asia & Oceania, UN Global Compact, underscored the role of corporate leaders in advancing sustainable finance: “Achieving the SDGs requires bold leadership and concrete action from the private sector. By embedding sustainability into business and investment strategies, companies and financial institutions can accelerate progress toward a more resilient and equitable global economy.”

David Atkin, CEO of PRI, emphasized the importance of investor action: “Institutional investors have a fiduciary responsibility to consider sustainability-related factors in their investment and ownership decisions. Alongside investor action, an enabling policy environment has a critical role in advancing sustainable finance. We are grateful to the UNGC-PRI roundtable participants for an important discussion on how leadership in these areas can create a sustainable future in Singapore and beyond.”

The roundtable concluded with a call to action for businesses and investors to:

Strengthen commitments to sustainable finance by aligning corporate financial strategies with sustainability-related factors.
Collaborate with policymakers to address policy barriers and enhance regulatory frameworks supporting sustainable investment.
Advance standardized reporting on biodiversity and climate-related financial risks.

CEO Water Mandate and Water Resilience Coalition announce new progress in engaging private sector to act on water

March 20, 2025 – Ahead of World Water Day, the Water Resilience Coalition—a CEO-led initiative driving corporate action on water stress—announced the addition of two new members: Grundfos and Haleon. This expansion brings the Coalition’s membership to 40 leading companies, collectively representing a market capitalization exceeding US$5 trillion.

The Water Resilience Coalition is an initiative of the CEO Water Mandate, a partnership between the Pacific Institute and the United Nations Global Compact. By 2030, the Coalition aims to unite a critical mass of companies to build water resilience in their operations and supply chains, while also investing in collective action to improve water resilience in 100 Priority Basins, the most water-stressed basins in the world.

In addition, the Water Resilience Coalition announced that Heineken, alongside a key partner have intensified efforts to enhance water resilience in the Rio Bravo River Basin, which spans the United States and Mexico. Their commitment will drive impactful collaborations in this Priority Basin, advancing collective action for sustainable water management.

“The momentum we are seeing—from new members to deepened corporate leadership in priority basins—demonstrates that water stewardship is no longer optional. It’s a business and sustainability imperative," said Jason Morrison, Head of the CEO Water Mandate. “Leading companies, including Heineken, are playing a catalytic role in advancing action in water-stressed basins around the globe by supporting collaborative infrastructure and services for scaling and tracking strategic, multi-funder investment opportunities for basin-wide impact.”

More than 60 companies have also endorsed the CEO Water Mandate in 2025, bringing the total number of companies to 478. These companies have committed to continuous progress building water resilience across their direct operations, supply chains, watershed management, and other areas.
